Long time no blog!

Since the first of November life at the Skaggs house has been kind of a mess. Kadee has been sick in bed, Scott has been trying to be both mom and dad, and the kids are wondering what the heck is going on. It has been miserable!!! Scott has done a great job cooking, cleaning, breadwinning, Christmas shopping, changing diapers, and showering love on our kids to try and maintain some semblance of normalcy. Meanwhile Kadee has laid in bed, moaning, crying, puking, feeling sorry, growing a baby, and definitely not blogging. Needless to say Thanksgiving came and went and so did Christmas and a New year, and we are thankful to see them all go. Finally for the last 2 weeks Kadee has began to come back to life, she even decided that she was Vitamin D deficient and that the only cure was soaking up the sun on the beach in sunny California, so we just returned from a trip there last night. (I will blog our trip next. ) Anyway since it has been so long the pictures in the Chrismas post are all jumbled and I didn't label any of them, so I will tell you here what they are about.

One night Sawyer and Mylee were playing barbies and we looked over and he had the barbie dress on his head, so cute!

There are a couple pictures of Grayson's 9th birthday party. Scott took him and his buddies sledding!

There is a picture of Emery dressed up for her report on Christmas in Guatemala. It was fun to have actual experience of Christmas there to share with her class.

We spent Christmas with Dallen and Molly and there kids and on Christmas Day taylor and Celeste came up. Thanks guys for trying to make the holiday normal for my poor kids!

Grayson has started playing basketball. Here is a picture of him and Bridger before a game.

Barn Building!

Rachel and Mylee are ready for some barn building!

The kids think that the new barn roof makes a great playhouse.
When it is finished there will be a feed and tack room, a chicken coop, and shelter for our goats and lambs.

Our friends the Poll's have been helping us build the barn.

It's lookin' good guys.

Happy Birthday Elly!!!

For Elly's first birthday we invited some of the neighborhood pooches over for a party. Here is Sawyer taking Sadie for a walk.
The Poll girls came with Winston and Sophie.

Here is Hannah getting ready to give some birthday cake to Winston.

Elly is getting ready to blow out her candle.

Elly loves her dog food cake!

And BABY makes 7!!!!

Yep, you guessed it, we are having a baby! We really thought that we were done with having children the old-fashioned way and figured that anyone one else who wanted to join our family would be through adoption, and we were PERFECTLY happy with that, so we have spent this week pinching ourselves wondering if this is for real. SURPRISE!!! It's for real and we are excited. It just goes to show that there is someone else in charge of our lives, so no sense wasting our time with what we think is best! Now that the idea is settling in I can't believe that we will have a tiny, sweet baby joining our family again. We are truly blessed! When I was a kid my dad announced one of my siblings during our family prayer. I had told Scott the story and the other night at dinner he was offering the blessing and he said, "we are thankful for the new baby that will be coming to our family" after that all semblance of reverence was gone! The kids opened there eyes and wanted to know what Scott was talking about. It was so funny! They are all excited. It is fun having bigger kids who actually understand what is going on to be excited. The one thing that keeps going through my head is 5 is a lot of kids! Oh well, the more the merrier! Our plan was to adopt again either from Guatemala or maybe a Hispanic baby domestically. Everyone keeps asking if we will still do that, and our answer is, we are gonna take it one kid at a time. I'm sure if there is someone else who is supposed to be part of our family Heavenly Father will let us know! Adoption was such a great experience for our family that we would be thrilled if that was part of our future. Time will tell! For now we will be having a baby in June. We are praying that this pregnancy is a little easier than the previous ones have been. We shall see. I am scurrying around trying to get life in order just in case though!
